Vikki is from Nga Puhi and Ngati Maniapoto Iwi. She was born and raised in South Auckland. Vikki graduated from Auckland University with a Bachelor of Laws in 2004. She was admitted to the bar in 2005.
Vikki specialises in criminal defence law. She acts on private instruction and on criminal legal aid cases PAL categories 1-3. Vikki is also a Court appointed Youth Advocate appearing as counsel for children and young people charged with criminal offences.
Vikki started her career as a lawyer at NTK Community Law Centre where she grew a passion for criminal law. She then worked as a barrister for a senior criminal barrister in Auckland City. In 2009 she worked as a prosecutor on behalf of the NZ Police. Vikki returned to criminal defence work in 2010 working for the Public Defence Service in Manukau. She returned to the private bar in 2014 and has worked as a sole practitioner since that time.
Outside of work, Vikki is a keen novice gardener and enjoys time with whanau.
